Rescue Skills:

Air Management

Often the most needed intervention when rescuing a downed firefighter is the application of air. In this skills training, you will learn the intricacies of applying air to the downed firefighter in four different methods. The methods are not so much chronological but rather each of them remedies a specific issue.

Firefighter Packaging

All too often firefighters have been taken out of hazardous buildings, stripped of their gear. In this video, you will learn how to package a down firefighter implementing our altered P.A.C.E. methodology

Firefighter Drags – Gauntlet

The situation that is presented will dictate how you will be able to drag the downed firefighter. Learn multiple drags and how to incorporate all of them in the Drag Gauntlet.

R.I.T. Deployment

The time to devise an entry plan is not when the Mayday has been transmitted. Learn the needed sequence and skills such as; firefighter entry order, tool assignments, and rope management in this bread-and-butter video.

Victim Window Lifts & Ladder Carries

Most often the way out of the IDLH atmosphere is not the way you entered. Learn multiple ways to lift a downed firefighter out of a window and carry them out on a ladder. These skills will soon become your new plan “A”.

Up/Down Stairs

Firefighter down in a basement and the stairs are still intact? Learn the firefighter up the stairs removal technique to take the downed firefighter quickly to safety with the; 1-Firefighter, 2-firefighter & 3-firefighter methods. Also, included is how to safely take the firefighter downstairs.

Cork Screw Lower

Removing a downed firefighter into the safe haven of the stairwell is not enough. The downed firefighter needs to be in the care of emergency medical personnel as soon as possible. With the elevators out of service, this could be a tedious task. Learn two ways to descend multiple flights of stairs while avoiding the stairs and landings to move the firefighter to the ground floor where help can be rendered.

Confined Space Window Lift (Denver Drill)

When a downed firefighter is found in a narrow aisleway that makes a conventional window lift unachievable, learn two ways to accomplish the popular “Denver Drill” in this video.

High Anchor/Hauling

Learn how to accomplish a window lift from the outside with the High Anchor Haul. With the proper equipment and technique, windows lifts have never been this effective.

Lowering

When the closest means to safety is out the window, but there is no ladder present – perform “Lowering”. By using all equipment out of your pockets, you will be able to safely lower the downed firefighter out of the IDLH.

Sub-Floor Rescue- Hose (Nance Drill)

When a firefighter falls through the floor into the basement, learn how to accomplish a sub-floor rescue of an uninjured as well as an unconscious firefighter utilizing the hose line.

Sub-Floor Rescue- Rope (Nance Drill)
